Becoming a Realtor, the Juggling Act is Well Worth It!

For those who are interested in starting a career in the Real Estate business, the effort, long hours, hard work, and challenge is well worth it! With a large family and full time job, beginning a new career was daunting.  My future broker at Exit Realty North suggested I try an online school, which proved to be exactly what fit my busy schedule.  With the online school, a series of slides and check point tests took me one lesson at a time until I had finally covered all the basics of real estate both for Alabama and for the National Exam. And there were lots of tests! But seeing where I missed questions helped me cover that material again and again.  The site had supplemental reading for math, law, and details about every topic.  Long hours of studying what often seemed like a foreign language gave way to clarity.  Or at least moments of clarity.  When the end of all the units came and the practice exam was all that was left, I really had a firm grasp on the material. To prepare for the state exam, I used the online school's links provided to see what would be on the test, using the AMP booklet as my outline for what to read in the online books.  I also watched youtube webinars on hard topics to hear it a different way and to have a visual aide for remembering so much information. My husband, a realtor for Woodland Homes and Exit realty, cheered me along the process and supported me through some of the more difficult lessons.  Having a great support system of other knowledgable realtors, all from either Woodland or Exit, coupled with using a variety of study methods, I was able to achieve my goals! I did it! Busy mom of three, full time teaching job, crazy life events and all.   I am so excited to be a part of the Exit team and finally put all those months of coursework into practice with the people who supported me along the way, helping clients in north Alabama find their dream home.
